Elizabeth Guy (she/her) is a 20 year old performer based in Atlanta, Georgia, studying in Decorah, Iowa. She is a third year undergraduate vocal performance major at Luther College, with minors in musical theater and management. She looks forward to performing and studying musical theater, opera, piano, and conducting during her fall 2025 semester.
At Luther College, Elizabeth studies advanced choral conducting under Dr. Andrew Last, opera and musical theater under Carla Hanson and Dr. Nicholas Shaneyfelt, and piano under Miko Kominami and Dr. Jonathan Strauss. She was recently selected as a young artist for QueerPopera’s 2025-2026 season. She sings in Nordic Choir, Luther’s principle choral ensemble. With Nordic Choir, Elizabeth has performed at the 2025 National ACDA Conference in Dallas, Texas, and is excited to perform at the Midwest ACDA Conference in February 2026. Elizabeth studied music theory and ear training on an honors curriculum, and is piano proficient. She served as a section leader for Aurora, her first-year choir under Dr. Adriana Tam. She serves as ACDA Chair for the Future Music Educators Association, and Hospitality Chair for the Performing Arts Committee. Elizabeth is excited to give a junior voice recital with Ombeni Goss (flute) on March 14, 2026.
Elizabeth graduated from Denmark High School on the fine arts pathway in 2023. She attended GMEA All State Chorus five years, GMEA All State Reading-Chorus two years, and NAFME All National Choir one year. She also attended Forsyth county district honor choirs five times. She competed in GHSA Literary three years, and won first at the state level for girls trio in 2022 and 2023. She also won first at the state level with a perfect score of 100 for girls solo in 2023. As part of the Denmark HS theater department, Elizabeth served as a music captain for three mainstage shows, Les Miserables, Newsies, and Chicago. Newsies won the Shuler award in 2023 for best music direction. In her senior year, Elizabeth assistant directed and stage managed a cabaret production of Pure Imagination. In classes, Elizabeth earned a 5 on her AP Music Theory exam, and served as a student conductor/director for a first year choir and theater class. She conducted several pieces in concert for the chamber choir and concert choir.
